SPOTLIGHT POETRY is a poetic collective with the mission to hold space for poets to develop themselves into professional artists and to inspire others to dive into the art form.
Established on May 12th, 2021 Spotlight Poetry has been a leading force in the Las Vegas arts scene. Giving both new and returning poets a home to share their works. While hosting a variety of events including writing/performance workshops, poetry slams, and creative community outreach. Spotlight is the only poetry exclusive open mic in the Las Vegas valley bringing in poets from all over the nation.
With the success of the weekly open mics and the large pool of talent that was highlighted, Spotlight created the resident Slam Poetry Team for Las Vegas. The team consists of a diverse collective of poets from all different backgrounds and writing styles. Together they hope to uplift their city with their stories and put Las Vegas on the map within the national poetry community.
