Apply for our 2026 Poetry Showcase Series!
Mission
The Spotlight Showcase Series celebrates diverse voices by featuring poets and hosts across the Las Vegas Valley and beyond in showcases aligned with significant cultural and heritage months. Each showcase will highlight three poets and one host, creating an intimate and engaging experience for the audience. Poets may apply to more than one showcase if their heritage or background aligns with the theme, and each selected participant will receive a small stipend for their work.
How to Apply
Fill out and submit the form below to be considered for the 2026 Spotlight Showcase Series. This application is open year-round, and poets will be notified via email one month prior to the showcase(s) they applied for if selected or not. Please note that while out-of-state poets are welcome to apply, Spotlight Poetry is not responsible for travel expenses.
Application Requirements and Guidelines
To ensure your application is complete and accurately reflects your artistry, please follow these guidelines:
Required Personal Information:
- Stage Name
- Pronouns
- Current Residence
- Contact Information (Email Address)
Short Answer Questions:
Answer all short-answer questions in detail. This allows our selection panel to better understand you as a poet and artist.
Performance Video Submission:
- Submit a video of yourself performing your poetry (4 minutes max).
- Ensure the video quality makes you visible and audible.
- You may read more than one poem as long as the total time does not exceed the limit.
Headshot for Promotional Use:
- Attach a high-quality headshot (no selfies). This image will be used in promotional materials if selected.
- You may attach up to three pictures (our graphic design artist thanks you in advance <3 )
Resume or CV (Optional but Encouraged):
A resume or CV is not mandatory but highly recommended to provide insight into your experience and accomplishments.
