Summer Slam!

When: July 24th, 2026

Time: Doors Open 6:30p | Slam Starts 7:00p

All Ages Welcome! Parental Discretion is advised.

Please note that there may be performances including strong language and may touch on sensitive topics including but not limited to: Suicide, Sexual Harassment, Trauma, and Abuse/Violence.

How to sign-up to compete in the slam:

Sign-ups are first come first serve! Sign-ups will take place the day of the event at the venue. The list will open at 6:30p!

There will be a total of 10 slots available!

Poetry Slam Rules:

1) Poets must have at minimum 3 original poems to compete.

2) No hate speech is allowed on the mic! No racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, or xenophobia is allowed.

3) Poets are NOT allowed to use any props, costumes, or music.

4) There will be a total of 3 rounds-->

Round 1: 10 poets

Round 2: 5 poets

Round 3: 3 poets

5) Poets will be scored by randomly selected judges in the audience. Judges will score them 0(lowest) - 10(highest). The high and low scores will be dropped and the rest of the judges scores will be totaled, giving the poet for that round their final score. Only the poets with the highest scores will move onto the next round.

6) Poets will have 3 minute and 10 second time limit on the mic. Once a poet goes over that time limit the following score deductions will follow:

3:10 - 3:19 seconds over .5 taken off total score

3:20 - 3:29 seconds over 1 point taken off total score

3:30+ poet will be disqualified from that round

7) In the event of a tie breaker, poets will perform a one minute poem to have the judges determine who will be moving forward.

Prizes:

First Place: $100

Second Place: $75

Third Place: $50
